From the Publisher:

The Mayans aren’t the only ones with a 2012 prophecy…

Long before recorded history, there was a Keetoowah warrior so feared that everyone trembled before his wrath. Only a brutal betrayal by the one closest to him could defeat him. But not even death was the end of a man so strong.

The Time Untime approaches…

Kateri Avani has been plagued her entire life with dreams she doesn’t understand. Images of places she’s never been and of a man she’s never seen. Her quest for answers has driven her to Las Vegas where she hopes to finally silence the demons in her mind.

What she never anticipates is coming face to face with the warrior who has haunted her her entire life. One who belongs to a world the scientist in her refuses to believe is real.

Ren Waya came back from the dead to keep the prophecy he began from coming true and ending the world. For thousands of years, he has fought the same evil that once possessed him. But now that evil has found the one person he can’t fight. The one person who, against his will, holds the most sacred part of him.

His heart.

But if he doesn’t kill Kateri, the deadliest of evils will reemerge and destroy everyone else on the planet. It was a sacrifice he made once.

Will he be able to make it again?

Ren Waya has a tortured soul. He is an honorable man and strong warrior who, through no fault of his own, was beaten down and ridiculed by those who should have loved and cared for him. He is a hero who pulls at your heartstrings.
He wanted to belong to something. Anything. Just once. No one ever wanted him.
Yet he was always the most worthy man around.

Kateri Avani is a scientist who doesn't believe in the folklore her beloved Cherokee grandmother tells her. She soon learns that it's true when evil comes bursting into her lab, and she discovers that she is the key to preventing the end of the world. She's a compassionate, funny heroine who is deadly with a bow and arrow.

The plot of Time Untime is straightforward. Ren and Kateri must battle foes and race against time in order to place a guard stone in a special slot in a cave to prevent the end of the world. Of course, it's not as easy said as done. And the book isn't easy to read. The mesh of Keetoowah, Mayan, and Dark-Hunter mythology and language is difficult to understand. I needed a chart or a graph to help me grasp some of the concepts and relationships at times.

I felt as if the love story was rushed. Although I thought Kateri was just what Ren needed, they seemed to fall in love too quickly. There wasn't much depth to the development of their relationship. That said, the Epilogue was heart-warming and the last line was satisfying. You will close your book or turn off your e-reader with a contented sigh.

Fans of the Dark-Hunter series will want to read Time Untime to keep up with some recurring characters. Sundown, Sasha, and Urian provide comic relief. Acheron is as wise (and short-haired!) as ever. Nick plays an important role, and his interactions with Kateri might be significant to his ongoing character development and story-line.

I don't think it's a spoiler to say that Acheron sums up the book very nicely for Ren in this quote:
"If we're lucky, we find the one person who will hold our trust and keep it sacred and safe against all attackers. That one soul who will restore our belief that people are decent and kind, and that life, while messy, is still the most wondrous gift anyone can know."
Sherrilyn Kenyon has a gift for words of wisdom, and there are a number of gems in Time Untime.

I've listed all the Dark-Hunter books in their reading order below. For simplicity, I've included the Dark-Hunter, Were-Hunter, Dream-Hunter and Hellchasers books as one series.

Happy Reading!
