Jillian Cardiff came to this remote mountain town to forget the demon attack that almost killed her. Instead, she rescues-and falls for-a gorgeous stranger who has no memory of anything other than his name. Handsome, charming, and protective, Reseph seems like the kind of man whom Jillian can trust. But with hints of a troubling history of his own, he's also the kind of man who can be very dangerous . . .

Reseph may not know why he mysteriously appeared in Jillian's life, but he knows he wants to stay. Yet when Jillian's neighbors are killed, and demon hunters arrive on the scene, Reseph fears that he's putting Jillian in danger. And once it's revealed that Reseph is also Pestilence, the Horseman responsible for ravaging the world, he and Jillian must face the greatest challenge of all: Can they forget the horrors of a chilling past to save the future they both desire?

♥♥♥

At the end of Lethal Rider, the angel Reaver contrived to have Pestilence locked up inside Reseph, instead of having both Pestilence and Reseph killed. Reseph was sent to the demon equivalent of hell to be tortured. Reaver took pity on Reseph, wiped his memory, and sent him back to the human realm. In Rogue Rider Reseph awakes, naked, in the snow in a remote area of Colorado.

Jillian Cardiff finds Reseph and takes him to her cabin, where they are temporarily snowed in. He can't remember anything except his name, but he has disturbing flashes of the person he might have been. Especially when Jillian's neighbors are killed, animals are killed on Jillian's own property, and the killers don't appear to be human. Jillian also flashes back to her old life when her neighbors are killed, as she was once attacked by demons.

Not all is dark, however. Jillian finds herself attracted to the quirky, playful, sexy stranger in her cabin, who quickly weaves his way into her life and makes her feel comfortable and safe. Not that she wants to be protected. She's a brave woman, a true warrior worthy of a Horseman.

"I'm not afraid of you, Reseph." Her level gaze was unwavering, leaving no doubt that she was serious.
"But you don't know who I am."
"I know you're cocky and funny. You're protective and sweet. You're not afraid of hard work. You're strong, but gentle. You can't cook worth a shit."
     "I think I'm offended."
"But you really can't cook," she grumbled.
"I was talking about the 'sweet' part."

Reseph is faced with feelings that he knows he's never experienced before, and he isn't sure he can handle them. He and Jillian agree on commitment-free sex, and yet care, reverence, and emotions come to bed with them.

After searching and not finding anything, Reseph decides that he doesn't want to discover his past. He has what he wants in Jillian, and he wants to make a fresh start. But forces are gathering to find him and turn him back into Pestilence. If he's subjected to evil, Pestilence could return.

Reseph's memories come back, with dire consequences. All the Horsemen are reunited, but it may be too late for forgiveness.

But the ultimate question is whether Jillian can anchor Reseph and prevent Pestilence from taking over again.

♥♥♥

Larissa Ione did a fantastic job of turning a villain into a hero you'll fall in love with from page one. Jillian is a strong heroine who is a match for Reseph, and who can stand up to Pestilence. You'll like her as the heroine.

The book moves along at a good pace. There is mystery, suspense, action, and fighting to keep things going. Not to mention the hot sex.

Favorites from previous books return, including the Horsemen and their families, Kynan, Reaver, and Harvester. There are some amazing revelations that may surprise you. Reaver's story is set up in the last chapter, and the odds are stacked high against him. His story is due to come out in September of 2013. It's already eagerly awaited!

In the meantime, enjoy Rogue Rider
